BurySOUND Heat Four

| |

With the storms forcing the cancellation of Heat 3 last week, bands have been shuffled into the remaining heats and this night there were 6 bands in contention for the slot in the final.

First up was Jackism – gaining in confidence with each performance Jackism has a lovely tone to his voice and plays the guitar beautifully. Looping his guitar sound to add depth to his tracks which are full of storytelling lyrics. There is variety in his songs which included a hint of Spanish guitar and his rapping technique that was quick and sharp.

Queendogs burst onto the stage for the next offering. A young band, however that didn’t detract from the energy and dynamic set they performed. The punky rock 5-piece had attitude and they knew it. With their well-constructed tracks they had the crowd dancing and clapping.

Call to The Faithful are a slick alternative rock band who were the tightest band of the night. This four-piece had a great guitar sound with some epic riffs, the singer was interacting with the crowd as he oozed confidence whilst belting out the tracks.

Blue Feed were a talented indie trio with a strong guitar sound. Heavily influenced by The Artic Monkeys and The Kooks, Blue Feed produced some quality tracks amongst the nerves however they sounded good and have the potential for more.

Next up on the stage were Outbound, a four-piece band with a lovely array of hats! Outbound have an indie sound with a difference and not afraid to play long instrumental parts. Very good guitar playing from the lead singer. The last track was great as the nerves went away and the voice warmed up.

Last to perform were a country blue grass indie band James White & The Wild Fire a banjo, a cajon, double bass and a guitar – what a combination for some excellent blue grass music and something different. Definitely some foot-tapping tracks being performed to the delight of the crowd.

Another difficult heat for the judges to make a decision and again the discussions were intense. After voting the winner of Heat 4 was: QueenDogs and they are going to the final at The Apex on 18th March.
